Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Hey I see you have Jim Davis as a fav artist.
About 10 years ago I was working at a t-shirt company on a t-shirt design where a local college (in Asheville, NC) wanted to take one of JD's University of Georgia designs of a bulldog dunking a basketball and rip-it-off and put a different animal but same style. I told them no until someone called Jim Davis and got permission. Nobody would and I had a rep book out of New York of artists they represented and JD was one of them. I called NY and got on the phone with a Brooklyn boy and me with my southern drawl and explained my situation. The NY boy figured he wasn't going to make any money off the deal and gave me Jim Davis' phone number on Jekyll Island, GA. I called and dang if Jim Davis answered the phone. He was in his 70's, I assume, back then. He was THE nicest guy and he allowed me to use the style for nothing...but not before I goo-gooed and gah-gahed over what an inspiration he had been to me. (I need to go back and add him to my list if I didn't before). I remember getting on a pay-phone in Hotlanta and seeing the work he did for BellSouth, way back when...his art was all over the phone. Great guy!!!
