"Yeah, I like this one as well. Good job and keep up the good work. Let me know how you are doing."
"Good start! I can totally tell that this is one of your characters. You definitely have the likeness of your character down packed. I would say that you probably need to minimize your typology however. But yeah, keep plugging at it."
"This is really good. Wow, this looks like it could be in a children's book or something."
"These are very powerful words. I'm glad that you were able catch the bus by the way! ha ha. You made a great point in the beginning of this blog about you having a goal, and by deternining to do it, you (by God's grace) were able to accomplish it.…"
"I like the anatomy of the torso on this character in black and white. I'm glad that you are thinking about your demo reel as well. I'm sure that you will do a great job on it. You can do anything you put your mind to. Just don't go overboard (lol)!"
"Hey Scott,
thanks for the letter and the quote from C.S. Lewis. It was from Desiring God by John Piper that I read this quote. That's cool man. Yeah, looking forward to getting more familiar with you.

"I like your drawings in this sequence."
"I would definately recommend that you look into investing in the animation programs even before you get into an art college or institute. I believe if you have potential and a passion for animation, it doesnt really matter what college you go to, as…"
"Perhaps the best thing to do is not worry about things that are not in your power to change. I agree that you can even use the desert moments of your life to fuel some of the best work out there. I also agree that all of this should be accompanied…"
"Do you want the general public to see your work? If so, make it. You have to be interested in showing what you can do. Dont limit yourself, you have the potential to do whatever you set your mind to. If it makes you feel any better, I'm set to…"
"Hello,
I would like to give my best respects to Mr. Ollie Johnson. I believe that we all aspire to master the art of animation as well as Mr. Johnson. And if God has taken him away from us, we must also take into consideration that he first gave him…"

"This is a very interesting way to explain the background of Santa Clause! I really like this and I believe you should continue to run with it.

"I will be praying for you as well Michael. I would like to illustrate some of your stories as well. I believe that it can be necessary to take a break from writing for a while. It may give you some time to rest and be inspired again. If you are…"
"Hey dude,
I think you have a wonderful imagination and that is exactly what God has given you. I would say, in many ways, I envy that. (Not that I should or anything.) If you desire to show how great God is through your characters, I believe it is…"

Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."

Just read the story below and replace Jim with Jack. No offense Jim Davis.

Wecome.
Hey I see you have Jim Davis as a fav artist.
About 10 years ago I was working at a t-shirt company on a t-shirt design where a local college (in Asheville, NC) wanted to take one of JD's University of Georgia designs of a bulldog dunking a basketball and rip-it-off and put a different animal but same style. I told them no until someone called Jim Davis and got permission. Nobody would and I had a rep book out of New York of artists they represented and JD was one of them. I called NY and got on the phone with a Brooklyn boy and me with my southern drawl and explained my situation. The NY boy figured he wasn't going to make any money off the deal and gave me Jim Davis' phone number on Jekyll Island, GA. I called and dang if Jim Davis answered the phone. He was in his 70's, I assume, back then. He was THE nicest guy and he allowed me to use the style for nothing...but not before I goo-gooed and gah-gahed over what an inspiration he had been to me. (I need to go back and add him to my list if I didn't before). I remember getting on a pay-phone in Hotlanta and seeing the work he did for BellSouth, way back when...his art was all over the phone. Great guy!!!
