  • Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

  • Hey wussup. Thanks for responding to my blog. I sent you a freind request too. I have so much to share, where do i start? lol. Well i believe that Its time for us Christian artists to get serious and and start fighting back against the worlds entertainment. I mean i bought the new Transformers movie on blu ray and everyone is cussing and there are so many sexual references its rediculous. We need to present entertainment that is just as cool but with true substance.
  • Thanks man. Nope, no books out though. Maybe someday.
  • leo, good to see you one here. I did study at art center, but didn't finish my degree there. I don't own a copy of painter so I do digital art in Photoshop for now.
  • Hey Leo! My webcomic is called December Sun, and it's at dscomic.com. It's just a hobby when I can find time for it, and I never really had formal comic book illustrating training (as evidenced by the art in the book! :)
If you are looking for a format for sharing art/stories in a publication format, you might consider Alpha-Omega, which is a comic book fanzine of the CCAS that comes out once every other month. I can get you more info on that if interested.

  • Hey, welcome! Regarding the Webcomics book, I've read that too, and aside from some occasional off-color humor and profanity, it's a good resource on getting started. I just wish it offered a little more technical info on setting up a Wordpress site with the comicpress theme (which is moderate to difficult, I think) but otherwise, they offered some good info.
Let me know when your site is up and I'll check it out!

  • Currently I am getting stories that I had been working on together to try a comic book. I have illustrated a children's book that was in the beginning stages of getting picked up by a publisher to be made into a series but that fell through quite recently so I am trying to figure out what I am supposed to be doing with it... I had never considered making comics until the Saturday night meeting at comic con...now I trying to think through what kind I want to make, what style, so much to consider! But I am excited about this possible new twist in my journey that God has me on right now.
  • I am interested to see how your comic progresses, I love what you have so far.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
