  • I believe I once corresponded with Hu Ann and Ben for a possible - but my style wasn't manga enough I think for their line.

Ok ... so now I know one other Christian comic book artist in the Philippines.. Meron pa ba?
  • Pinoy din. Artist ako... ikaw?
  • Hey, Bro Orphen, good or bad, the images were done by me. For the first book, however, I penciled all and inked most of the pages including cover, and had help with inks and tones. It was really a heavy-duty first project for me. Next one is all mine, tho.
I did want to ask about your pages. I love the style, and was wondering if you had inked and colored your work. Thanks for the add, btw!
  • For the sketchbook we ask that you include a Scripture verse with eac illustration and your copyright info. We're going to print the sketchbook as a b&w ashcan. You can send the jpegs to my email address at ralphellismiley@verizon.net. Let me know if you need more info.
  • What's up bro!!, I just wanted to say Jesus, "Mahal Kita's You!", Keep in touch and may god blesses you on the other side of the world. BAP out!!!!
  • HI Bro. Orfenn,

Happy Thanksgiving, at least here in the US! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

    At Your Service,

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
  • Sorry Bro. Orfenn, wala akong website. Pero if you need me to do sample pages mara gauge mo ang trabaho ko, I would be more than happy to do a try out.

Okay din si Gollum noh? Bilingual. :)
  • You must be talking about the Burnham couple. Well that's the Southern part. It's only about 1/8 of our population. The Burnham couple wasn't just held hostage for being Christians, they were captured mainly for being Americans. The Muslim group Abu Sayyaf are terrorists and they are believed to have links with Al Qaeda.

For more info, you can visit here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Sayyaf

Though this doesn't have a large effect on the spread of Christianity here. You can preach the Gospel here, they'll only laugh at you. Preach the Gospel in Muslim Mindanao, there's about 30% chance that terrorist will capture you(IMHO).
  • I thought the south of the Philippines was a bit of a war zone with radical Muslims. I do remember an American missionary couple there who were held hostage for about a year; the husband was killed, and the wife eventually released. This happened only a few years ago.
  • Nice. If i have time I'll read it. Missionaries won't have much trouble here preaching the Gospel. Christians are only ridiculed and persecuted at a small degree. They don't kill us for our faith unlike in China or in Arab countries.
