I have just begun this idea of comics for witnessing tools, but one of my biggest hold-ups is that I am concerned that what I produce will be similar or the same as someone else's work. What's the word on this subject? I mean, there is "NO WAY" to…
Don't let Satan steal your victory. Depression is real, painful pasts are real, mental anguish is real, physical instabilities are real,...but, so is Your God!!! You are going to the right place for help, and I don't mean here. I mean,…"
Thank you for sharing this bit of "heresy" with the rest of us. Remember that the Bible teaches that in the last days there will be deceivers attempting to sway the "church" from the truths of Jesus Christ. We must always be aware of…"
Thanks for the nice words. Just wanted to let you know that my youngest is not in this picture, as this picture was from last year and he is only 2 months old. Will be updating soon with the latest photo.
"I understand your concern, but if you make up a character that happens to have the same name of another comics character but in a different story or light, it's your intellectual property and therefore not plagiarism, as long as you don't go and…"
"Very well explained. I did not think of it that way, which is why I asked, of course!! LOL! I'll certainly be more confident now. Thank you very much.
"Put it this way, if one could copyrigt chord progressions, then J.S. Bach would own all the music in the world! One can't come up with an origional story nowadays, just variate one from another...Also, look at all the movies (cartoons, specifically)…"
"The time is closer now than it has ever been for Christ's appearing. This is just one example of the day and hour that we are living in. Read Matthew 24 and 25 if there is any doubt about the soon coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...
Congratulations on the newest blessing. I know that between taking care of your family and pastoring a church, you are very, very busy. May the Lord continue to bless you, your family, and your congregation.
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.
Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
Ok, just called Howard's wife, and she said that he was discharged from the hospital and doing well, he's resting, there's no blockage or anything wrong with his heart (praise God) but as to what is causing his arm to hurt so much is anyone's guess, either nerve pinched or something. Anyway, this is an update for everyone and a Thanks to all who've prayed for him. Howard's sure appreciative I know, lol. Praise God who answers prayers!
What a wonderful family the Lord has given you. My two oldest attend Biola University, a Christian college in the Southern California area. Children are a blessing from God and they keep you very, very busy.
Welcome Brother Craig, I have recently started using comics as a tool for sharing Jesus as well.
God bless you as you continue to step out sharing Christ in faith.
Welcome to the CCAS. Comicbooks are a great tool for sharing the gospel. You will find some talented brothers and sisters in the Lord here. I hope you have a great time of fellowship on this site. God bless your call as a youth pastor. Today's youth have so many challenges and temptations. I'm a middle school teacher and see some of the things they face. The Lord bless you and your family.
