  • Hi Christina! Check your Messages! :)
  • Thanks for the response, Christina. The reason I was asking was because I am completing a graphic novel my own. It is Christian themed and I am looking for a publisher. So far with little luck and I was seeking advice. If you would like to see some of my work please let me know.

  • Are you publishing this yourself or do you have a publisher?
  • I can relate to your struggle. I spent more twenty years working on a secular comic strip that I just KNEW I would get syndicated. When, after two decades of work, all the syndicates said ,"No thanks," I was crushed. Then I took the advice of a friend and followed God's leading and did a Christian comic strip. Within a few months, people began to notice, and now seven years later it has become a world-wide ministry.

When we take the talents that God has given us, and use them to point people towards Him, great and mighty things can happen. When we use those talents for ourselves... well, we just sort of drift along. I will pray for you.
  • Hey, Christina! I noticed you mentioned almost going to Ai Dallas, so that caught my attention, since that's where I went. Anyhow, glad you're sticking with drawing. I saw some of your stuff, and I like a lot of what you're going for.

If I can offer some helpful comments, I would just encourage you to spend more time develping the poses your characters are in, before you jump into clothing, drapery and rendering details. You have nice shading and rendering skills, but they're being ruined by the poses a lot of the time. Try going over your drawings (on tracing paper, or digital layers) and making them solid silhouettes. Then see if you can tell what the character is doing. Always think through your poses for the clearest silhouette. That's half the battle.

Hope to see more work from you as time goes on. Feel free to drop by my page here, or look over my website, and take pot shots at my work as well. :)

    God bless,
    ~Randy
  • No I have never heard of the system but it sounds interesting. Concept art is a very cool gig. I have worked for several RPG companies. Are you familiar with the original AD&D books like the Fiend Folio and Monster Manual? I worked for Jeff Dee who did a lot of that original concept art. He was the creator of Villains and Vigilantes.
I'm not sure if you remember Villains and Vigilantes (it was the original superhero genre RPG.) but Living Legends was a modern re-release of that system. I help with the rules design and wrote a couple of supplements for it. I have some fantasy ideas if that interests you at all?
Do you have a email I can contact you at with some story ideas? Let me know?
  • Really good project Christina.
  • Hey Christina, Thanks for being my friend here at CCAS. Your revelation project sounds very ambitious.
