  • Thanks, hope you are doing well Alec.
  • Hello,

I wanted to see if you would be interested in a link exchange with your website. You can learn about the two projects I am currently working on here:

Take care and let me know!
  • Thanks for the birthday greeting, Alec. Still keeping busy on the Z Graphic Novels. I've been staying away from most forums (CC.NET, this CCAS one and the Yahoo Groups) for a variety of reasons, but I do check in regularly on Facebook.
  • Thanks for remembering Alec! I'm glad you told me about this site too. Keep up the great work!
  • Thanks Alec! I definitely learned a great deal from the classes I had with you. I remember Bruno hounding you to teach us more about storytelling, composition, anatomy, and other aspects of comics(something which I'm very thankful for today). In my opinion, you really picked up the slack for some of the other less knowledgeable teachers at the school. Of all the information I learned at the school, 75% of it was from you. As far as my professional career...I can't complain too much. I haven't been all that satisfied with the projects I've worked on, but its been good experience. After my current book is completed I'm planning to branch out to either Marvel or DC or possibly a French publisher. I'm also hoping to do some creator-owned projects in the next few years.

Another thing I want to do is something that can be a witness to people(which is how I came across this site). I've been a Christian essentially all my life, but in the last year I've actually become more serious about it and I really want to use my talents to further the message of Jesus. I'm not really sure what I want to do yet. The tough thing to me is deciding between having the book be overtly religious or just having an underlying Christian message(like C.S. Lewis). I just want to make sure it gets in the hands of people that don't believe in Christ. What are your thoughts on this? That's great that your fifth book is coming out soon! Money's a little tight right now for me, but I need to pick up a copy of Sadhu Sundar Singh at some point...It looks beautiful and I'm interested in reading the story. I remember you showing our class a few of the pages from that back in the day :) Anyway, hope you're doing well!

  • HI Alec,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
  • Hi Alec! I just discovered you are here - good to "see" you again.
  • As always, Revival touched my heart. I thoroughly enjoyed the work. God bless!
