  • Hi, Ralph --

Thank you for the information on monthly meetings.  Yes, I would be interested in attending the next one near Biola University in La Mirada.  I appreciate your contacting me about it.

May God bless you, your family and your work always,

    John T. Stanhope

  • Thank you Ralph! I am really happy to have found this community - christian comic artists seem to be few and far between. My wife showed me an interview you did (this year?) at comicon, and it was really encouraging! God is good. I will post some of my comic samples here - just wondering what is the best way to do this? Do I post it to my profile page?

  • Hi, Ralph. Glad to become your friend here.

  • Thank you. My previous work is in Chinese though, but I'll post them anyway.

  • Hey, thanks. Nice to meet you! It's true that I've been drawing for quite a while now, but for a long time this God-given gift turned into a downright idol so these months I've been asking God to change my perspective on many things. I bet many people who love to draw comics, write fiction, etc. who become Christians have struggled with this too, so I know I'm not alone. But personally I'm pretty glad I found this site. After a long time of praying, waiting, asking questions and such, I think God does want me to use my ability to draw stories to glorify him after all. So I'm glad I found this site because I can meet and talk to people in similar situations as me. (Most of the comic artists I've read and comic fans I've met are unbelievers, so it's kind of saddening and I feel like a bit of a misfit sometimes. It also bothers me that so many comics have questionable content or that people over-idolize characters to the point that they completely forget their reality - a trap that I once almost fell in too, I admit.)
  • Thank you for the thoughtful message.

  • Thanks! I'm really looking forward to becoming connected in the community!

  • Thanks a lot; I appreciate the welcome!
