Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
I speak both English and Mandarin Chinese and I draw in a cartoonish style inspired by both Western and Japanese artists.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
I was born in March 1998. I have been reading the Bible since I was a child and have believed in Jesus, although the rest of my family fell away from their faith in God because of difficult troubles in their lives (I really hope this changes someday). When I was about 17, I started taking God more seriously than before. I believe it was then that I was truly born again; I desired to truly know him. Ever since, He has called me to change my mindset regarding many things so I can become closer to the person He created me to be. I'm not perfect and I still have daily struggles with sin and much to learn, but as long as I trust in Him completely and allow him to renew my mind daily, I know I will be able to be content always, no matter what.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
To be honest I don't know yet. I would love to create my own stories, but I have a bad track record of idolizing several fictional characters and storytelling itself and I think I should be careful whatever I end up doing in the future. I feel I'd better ask God to give me good motives, not bad ones, before I dive into anything. However, if I were draw my own comic series, I would do my best to create a deep, fresh, interesting, story that will get people thinking of the meaning of life, the depravity of human hearts, and eventually, our need for a Savior. It'll most likely be in the sci-fi genre because of my interest of stories set in the near future - especially ones that discuss the positive and negative impacts of technological development in human society.
Favorite Comic Creators:
Well, in terms of style, I like Hayao Miyazaki's drawings the best. In regards to stories, I like Osamu Tezuka's books and characters the best, but I do have a nasty record of being overly emotionally attatched to his characters in the past so now I'm trying to be more careful while viewing his comics for inspiration. Sometimes I just stay away for a short while, and when I go back to reading them, I just try to be careful of what's on my mind.

Welcome to the CCAS. I enjoyed your testimony and your insight on your Dream Job. I think that Miyazaki is a genius. If you have samples of your work, I would encourage you to post them. May our gracious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, richly bless you in the knowledge of His love and grace.
