  • Hey Ralph! wanted u 2 check out my new site, please.

  • Your compilation of Proverbs and Parables was one of several comic books I'd bought many years ago when I first started going to comic conventions as an attendee. My son was around 9 or 10 at the time (now he's grown up). Back then his teachers were not succeeding in teaching him how to read. But when I started buying comic books he read them, and that's how he learned to read. At the time I was not affiliated with any religion and was trying on my own to understand this odd sequence of events called life on earth. Having read this comic book helped me make sense of the passages in the Bible that I couldn't grasp very well when I tried to read it un-illustrated. Your illustrations in particular give contemporary meaning to these teachings from thousands of years ago. I'm glad my son had the opportunity to read it, too.
This is why I think comic book art is very important, and unfortunately, their value is not recognized enough nor is it being made as available as it should be. Words in conjunction with pictures tell a powerful story. I hope to find more stories from the Bible that you've illustrated.
  • Thanks for the welcome Ralph. Glad to be here. I met you at the con last month. I was the guy that Bud Rogers told me to come by the booth and to tell you "hello".
  • Ralph, thanks for the welcome!! I am looking for a comic book artist. I have written part of a comic series and have some (really bad) sketches of the characters. Any suggestions? Also, what is your opinion of the Christian comic market? This is all new for me.
    Thanks, Andrea
  • Thanks for the offer sir. I would love to do San Diego hopefully next year.
  • Hey Ralph!
Thanks so much for checking out my site and for the kind words. It was nice to talk to you in San Diego- and thanks for remembering me, too!

I hope all is well for you!
  • Hey Ralph,

I find the comment you left on my board more "real" since I have met you tonight. While we talked much about future comic-cons, it was wonderful being with other like-minded comic artists and aficionados (i.e. geeks) who are also believers. Yes, it was a bit intimidating being my first meeting, but i think that's just typical of first meetings. ^_^
  • Hi Ralph,
I thank you for your prayers. It has been an interesting journey, a journey I wish I didn't have to take. But through it I have been blessed. The passage, "... in all things God works for the good of those who love him..." Romans 8:28 has new meaning for me. I remember talking to some people right after the accident, and having them tell me that God does all things for the good of those who love them. That somehow taking my son away was good for me. Now I see that despite what are fallen world might do to itself, God still works in all of that to work good.

I would invite you to visit my webs site, douglasgclarke.me, and read my blogs. It is through this experience that really learned how to express myself and my struggles. There are some very deep, and some very moving things there.

    Doug

  • It was a great time at Comic-Con Ralph. I'll be there for sure next year, and hopefully as a professional!
  • Hello Ralph,

Thanks for the welcome to the site. Yes, I was there at the SF Wonder Con that Friday. However, I was only there for like 2 hours (1 of which was spent in the Black Panther animated series panel). Will you be at the Alternative Press Expo in September. Stay Blessed and keep in touch.
