Hey Matt, If you'd ever like to do an online interview - I'm working to grow axiomillustrationblog.wordpress.com into a place where artists and other creative minded people can be encouraged and motivated to help be great ambassadors for His kingdom! If interested, I'd love to send a few questions your way, and maybe work up a post featuring a little of your work. Anyway, just let me know. E-mail is axiomillustration (at) outlook (dot) com!
Yes actually. I'm writing a novel of which I'm creating illustrations for as well. It's a fairly unconventional approach to a "graphic" novel but I hope to have it finished by 2nd Quarter 2016.
I was just wondering when Chapter 2 of KYRIE will be on sale? Can't wait to read it!
Its been a while...since I was here.
Missed your comment.
I see you been busy...diggin the work!
Hi, Matt. Nice meeting you.
Matt: I was marveling at your website and I noticed the image below. I am IN LOVE with the line work, and the areas of gray, and the "speckled" effect (no idea what this is called or how it is achieved), and I was hoping you could explain the process and medium you used. I would love to make comics with this sort of texture to line and color:
Hey, Thanx Matt. Yeah. I think w/European market, its a cultural thing. Just like in Japan.
Comics to them are not just for kids. It's ART. Plus, the majority of the publishers...work differently than here. You are giving a year to create and develop the work for the series. I think they understand the value of the artist and the overall role the artist plays in the success of the book.
While in the states, they will for go, with whoever will do it the cheapest....regardless if your into the story or if you know how to tell the story. Nonetheless, glad your doing your own thing, it's the way to do it.
Your work has the right amount of that animation feel and style ..for the story you're telling. A very subtle quality of the HBO series ROME too.
Hey Matt, Love to see your version two.
Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...
If you are concerned about the accuracy and faithfulness to the text please read this Blog...
PS - Please add me as a friend here on CCAS
No prob my man... knock yourself out. Yeah sometimes I type whole messages on my phone and it gives me problems. I get into some really deep discussions and I'm like wow it looks like I just typed up some type of alien language or some baby gibberish. Sigh. SMH. Love your work man very vibrant, and I'm digging your figure drawings too. You have got your anatomy down to a tee! Thanks for the inspiration! I'll be posting my website soon and you can check out my other drawings. Later man. Enjoy the christian site.
