hey][, it's ignitestudio here.... As of late things have been crazy for me in general... All in all, the one thing that I've been putting off since 2000 has been my portfolio (it's totally in need of an extreme makeover, mainly in the sequential department). I know that there have been a few that have requested my artistic help/collaboration... although i appreciate the acknowledgment and hope to do so, i will be unable to dedicate myself to any project. rite now i need to focus on my portfolio and creative endeavors ...Keep me in your prayers! Jah jah Warriors!!! here's a sneak peak @ sequential sample I'm workin on called D v GRead more…

Hey everyone, there is a delay for Allegories volume 1. I have to reformat my files for the printer. The files I hadsent , some were sized wrong. Any way, I'm hoping this month it'll be out. I'm going to mail the new files to mypublisher today.I'm real excited about it comimg out. I've finished volume 2 and I've been working on volume 3. As I was putting the files together to send out, I felt very proud and happy with the artwork. I had been very critical towardsmy work (which I guess is normal), but I'm happy with howthe volume looks. There's always something I could had done better and so on, but I feel at times you just have to learn and move forward.

Well, what do you know! I'll be graduating from animation school in a month's time! And it's off to the workforce for me. Lucky for me, I don't need to fly to Hollywood to find work, cos Hollywood has come to town! The Singapore government has wooed several big name studios like Lucasfilm and Double Negative to set up offices here, and they're currently recruiting! As with many things in my life, I find the Lord leading me down roads that I never intended to tread. But along the way He's taught me to trust Him and His leading, and more so that He can be trusted. I came into animation school wanting to become a concept artist, but opportunities here for such positions are few and far between. On the other hand, 2D artists and compositors seem to be in demand, and I've learned through the course of my study that this is an area that I can potentially excel in.As I step into a new phase of life, I am reminded of a song:All the way my Savior leads me,What have I to ask beside? Can I doubt His tender mercy,Who through life has been my Guide?Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,Here by faith in Him to dwell! For I know, whate’er befall me,Jesus doeth all things well; For I know, whate’er befall me,Jesus doeth all things well.

The June issue of "HOW" Magazine had an article on ways to 'keep the creative juices flowing' by making art every day. The article showed examples for 4 artists who use a daily deadline to explore their creative side. I decided to give it a try, and in April began my "Almost Daily Digitals." In the series, I decided to explore Photoshop, and actually use photos I have taken over the year. Each week, I pick a different theme, and explore the subject. More often than not, i find the art leading me in places I had not considered in the beginning, and it has become a fun excercise. I post the daily digitals on my blog, "www.lookbothwaysartandfaith.blogspot.com" and welcome feedback.I am also interested in other ways that people keep creative in their work, and would love to hear what you do.

This is my first rough concept of Sergeant First Class Firewall. SFC Firewall is the U.S. Army's information assurance mascot, his duties are to appear in comics & learning materials that educate our soldiers about cyber security & computer virus prevention on U.S. Army computers. They currently are using another cartoon, but this is my submission for an update of the character. More detail will be added to the art, in later stages. My fingers are crossed. (BTW; I'm in the Army Reserve)

Just came back from Philly, from attending the only Black comic book convention in the US. It was awesome! Lions.12 did really good. I brought 40 comics with me and came back with five. It was smaller than most the cons I've been to, but I could feel the love. I got to see a awesome brother in the lord and ccas member there. Mark I had a good time brother. And I also got to meet Reggie Byers creator of Kidz of the King. Isay the greatest highlight if the trip was getting to minister to a boy who though the bible was something funny, until he read my comicbook.P.S: gOT TO TRY MY FIRST pHILLY CHEESE STAKE FROM pHILLY AND IT WAS AWESOME. BEST THING EVER. I AM LITERALLY STILL THINKING ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW.

Someone with a hunger for power is taking advantage of the supernatural wake Shiloh's arrival on Earth is causing to trigger a supernatural weapon so powerful that it will unleash the most destructive force ever to walk either world.Behold the coming of USCHI!

Ever since Sin City became popular, I've been intrigued by the noir style of comic books. I even rented a bunch of old noir style films just to get a feel for the genre. I also flipped through a few of the noir issues that Marvel has done recently. In researching the genre, I learned that most of the noir stories are riddled with sex, violence, drugs, alcoholism, and an overall depressing view on life. And of course, being me, the first thing I thought when I learned that was....Now how can I make it Christian?..........I have no clue if it's going to work out, but I do have an idea processing in my head....a way to incorporate enough of the elements that you get a noir feel, but not to the point that the material wouldn't be sellable to a faith-based audience.Something an old friend of mine once said about music.....it was God's creation, then Satan stole it and corrupted it. We need to try and take it back. I guess I kind of feel that way about comic books of ANY genre--superhero, noir, or otherwise. God created art and the minds that contribute to it. Then Satan got his hand in it and corrupted it to be something less than holy. Its our job as artists and writers who follow Christ to take it back and put it to its original use---glorifying God.So anyhow, I'll be working on that for a little while. I'm still spending most of my time and energy on the Outcasts Web Comic, because that is my first love. But later in the future I might have some character sketches and plot summaries to test out. Any thoughts on the matter? Can someone take something traditionally dark like the noir style and turn it into something God-glorifying? Comments or suggestions welcome.Keep Soaring,B

Our festival is happening next weekend and I wanted to start posting developments of the title's experiment for those who have decided to be a part of this and for those who have thought about it. A large amount of people have wagered their time, money, and the future of their ministry on seeing this thing through and it has been incredible up to this point to see so many people step out on faith in a large joint venture. Several different denominations have teamed up to put this thing on and there is a great vibe going around as people and resources keep coming out of the woodwork, all in anticipation of advancing the gospel in our region of influence. We cannot overstate the importance of this going well, so if you read this, please say a prayer for us. Joshua-

Hello all. I'm still very new to this world of comics and such. I've been a fan on comics since I was little, but have only looked into production of them recently. I've started an extremely small publishing company with my accountability partner, and we have some projects in the works. But I feel that we are mere pups trying to run with the big dogs. So I'm open to any advice anyone cares to give.I do have a web comic running. You can read it here. I also have a blog at here. Please feel free to visit them and leave any comments you care to.So yeah, I'm excited. I've only been a member for a few hours and I already feel welcomed. God bless you all!!Keep Soaring,B
