Trying to add more detail to the strip.
I had a great time at the Avon Con comics convention. I shared a table with the Great Ron Ferdinand.
The fans were enthusiastic and kind. I signed a bunch of AN ACT OF FAITH prints. I showed off artwork from AN ACT OF FAITH, as well as some of my original artwork from my time at Archie Comics, DC Comics, and Warp Graphics.
Ron was sharing a lot of DENNIS THE MENACE love to fans.
Scott McCloud was at the con, too. Scott came by the table and we chatted about comic book Creators' Rights, Will Eisner, and other comics stuff. (Later, Scott gave an amazing lecture on the use of images as a language.)
Avon Con was a whole lot of fun!
Hi everyone,
The official AN ACT OF FAITH: THE SWORD OF EDEN trailer is now online...
Holy is Yeshua!
best,
Al
Ok... so, it looks like Ron Ferdinand and I will be attending the Avon Con. We should be at a table. I'll be signing AN ACT OF FAITH prints, and will have some original artwork from the comic. And I'm sure that Ron will be sharing a lot of DENNIS THE MENACE love. :)

There's been a horrible tragedy in my eldest brother's family Sunday. His brother-in-law Brandon Abeita was murdered in Sweetwater during an argument with an acquaintance of his who shot him in the throat. He would later die on his way to the hospital. Luckily they found the one responsible and is currently in jail. It's believed that someone I once went to school with sold the gun to the guy that killed Brandon and it's believed the killer may be part of a local gang around this area. Hopefully they'll all wind up behind bars soon.
When my sister-in-law found out about her brother's murder she was hysterical and her mother was actually admitted to the hospital herself because of how high her blood pressure got from hearing about her son's death. She may never fully recover from this ordeal. So please say some prayers for my brothers family and mine too.
In addition to being the illustrator for the extraordinary KYRIE graphic novel, Matt Crotts (MC) has a Masters of Science in Medical Illustration, a BFA in illustration and five years full-time professional illustration experience. Some of the programs he uses to create his impressive artwork includes Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop,Illustrator, InDesign, Aftereffects and Flash) , Maxon Cinema 4D and Pixologic ZBrush. In the following artist interview, I was able to speak with Matt about what inspires him – as well as about KYRIE (from Ancient Greek Κύριε, pronounced “Keer-ee-ay”), a graphic novel set in 3rd century Roman North Africa. It follows a curious band of thieves, traitors and cut-throats as they attempt to outsmart the Imperial authorities, while navigating their own dark and competing desires as outlaws of Rome! Enjoy!

Hi All:
I would've posted sooner, but this project had 2 objectives:
1. get back into drawing a full issue in a set amount of time.
2. create a birthday gift for my bro with an idea I had been sitting on for years.
So, since tomorrow is his birthday, I will post the bday issue here, pencils and dialog.
Feel free to comment or critique, just remember the 1 to 1 rule: if for every comment of what you didn't like, you have to post a comment of what you did like.
Thanks for being patient with me
And here's the Dialog:
