Also, this is the 100th LABS strip, which is hard to believe. Praise the Lord!

I got the impression that with the modern way Comics flow from page to page, I thought the 2nd page of the book should be a full page or 2 page spread. Guess I read too many comics. Anyways, 2nd page is a full page comp since I didn't want to do a 2 spage spread this early in the story, and finished early for the week, so I'm ahead of schedule for this month(knock on wood)
Post one thing you like and 1 thing you dislike.
This week's comic points out a little hidden joke that's been around for two years.
Also, this is the end of year two/beginning of year three for LABS, and I've got a big announcement.
Thank you guys for all the encouragement over the last two years, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
It's definitely been a week of change. Typical for the first week of the new year, but this one feels like alot more change has happened than in the past new years.
Anyways, first page is done, and I'm stoked.
I have a loaned laptop with photoshop and did some touch up, but since I have photoshop now, I need to scan in for better quality. Of course my scanning bed isn't that big, so I may need to start scanning in at kinkos, (possible money drain).
Here it is, comment on 1 thing you like and one thing you don't like.
Happy 2018 everybody.
Either I take longer than I should on model sheets, or I underestimated how long I should spend on model sheets. Here's what I've worked on this past week. I didn't post last week because of Christmas and being out of town to spend it with the family. And getting back fighting jetlag, shortened work week and my parents stopping by, I didn't have much time to work with and didn't utilize the time I did have. Guess time management should be my goal for 2018.
These are some characters I'm working on for my first project of 2018. I hope to get this one done in under 4 months.

I drew this strip almost two months ago, but I thought it was a good one to end the year on, so I've been saving it.
I am impressed to make a not so grandiose resolution: to strengthen my friendship to someone. 1Thessalonians2:8 reminds me that the heart of the Gospel is not just in meeting physical or spiritual needs of others but, to the degree that we make opportunities, to befriend a small number of people.
Technology both makes this easy on a surface level and harder on a deeper level; deepening some connections necessitates cutting off other superficial contacts in order to give us more time and focus.
A small inspirational quote from CSLewis:
“I have no duty to be anyone's Friend and no man in the world has a duty to be mine. No claims, no shadow of necessity. Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like the universe itself (for God did not need to create). It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves
like writing a one panel comic book.
Its fascinating when you think about it like that.
To be honest. I like that better than drawing panel to panel in one page.
I like the idea of drawing one or even a two page in one picture and putting words to tell a story.
I like picture books. I am 26 years old and I still read picture books.
But I want to read one specifically for my age.
I am not a kid a anymore so I don't relate to kids that much. I may act like a kid myself, but I have weird interest that kids don't usually have.
So I plan on writing and drawing a picture book aimed for adults.
It is not about the violence.
It is not about the profanity. (I don't plan to do that, dont worry.)
It is not about the...Raunchy stuff.
Or even self harm stuff. (Though stuff like that needs to be said because People like that need deliverance.)
It is Just something I can relate too.
It doesn't have to be christian. It can be.
But like I said in my profile. I am not as godly as one may think.
I am christian that likes dark and scary stories. Especially ones with stories.
Has anyone ever heard of frank e perretti? He was a christian who wrote horror books with christian elements. Like "Hangmans Curse".
I never read his books, but I saw a movie based on it and it was good.
I always use Stephen King as my guide of writing a story within horror. (not the macabre part)
Sooooooo back to picture books. I like comics don't get me wrong.
I just wanted to ask an interesting question even though I went waaay off.
Would that still be considered a graphic novel?
And is it wrong to be into dark and scary things even though I am a christian?
To be honest I am already at peace with this question. I am just curious to your answer.
By the way I am reading the new testiment because I can never get passed the old testiment.
Well that is all. Have fun. Be safe and have a Merry Christmas.
Taking a week off LABS.
I really liked the "Christmas card" I posted last year, so I decided to use it again. :)
Merry Christmas!
Hi All:
With this page my Echelon project is done. The more I draw the more I learn. Got another project setup and plan on starting that before the new year. So glad I've made progress and can now setup a whole page which gives me more time to put in details. Post something you like about the page and something you dislike.
Greetings CCAS!
I thought some of you would enjoy this story of two animation legends receiving Christ through the ministry of the Gideons over 40 years ago while working at Disney Studios.
Pg 20 I had actually finished the week before last, but finally took a photo last night to post today, so that's progress I guess. Page 21 I finished this week.
This is a conditional recommendation; you have to really like family values, great story, Pixar animation...and not be put off by a few hundred comedic skeletons. That fit me and I finally got myself to a theater to see Disney-Pixars 3-D animated Movie, CoCo. In short, this is an awesome story with awesome values and a central dilemma of Family vs. a Personal quest.
Go see this movie.

Confession: I actually finished this last week, but didn't want to hassle with my slow computer taking so long to upload one photo let alone two. I have been working this week, don't worry, and will post next week showing next week's progress.
Time to kick off the Christmas season with the Rockin' Reindeer.
Thanks all.
