CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Intro and such

Well, this is my first blog post so I thought I would tell a little bit about myself and my life. I am also hoping to be more active on this site. I need to surround myself with more Christian influences and not so many secular ones. Were to begin, I am 37 years young and live in High Point NC. I am married to a wonderful woman who is a treasure sent to me by God. We have been married for four years and have one child, a son named Jake. I also have three other children, one 16, one 13 and one 7 from a previous marriage.I was saved at the age of 12 and all though I have walked away from God on many occasions have always found my way back through His guidance. I come from a broken home. My mother had several affairs on my dad and they split up when I was 7. My grandfather was a pretty famous baptist preacher in this area and was the largest influence in my life. I thank God daily for him and my grandmother.I joined the army in 1989 after graduating from high school. I was a 97Bwhich is a counter intelligence agent, and served with 5th Special Forces at FT Campbell, KY. I was in Desert Shield and Storm. I also have over 200 airborne jumps to my name. I served for four years and was honorable discharged.I married my first wife when I was 20 and she was 18. We had our first child a year after we were married. We stayed married for 12 years and she left me for several reasons.I was a youth pastor for a local church here as well as a director for Youth for Christ in area. I lead the at risk kids meetings. I went to John Wesley college for four years and lack about 15 credit hours to having my degree in Pastorial ministries and was up for being a pastor of a local church, until my exwife left me. I pretty much had to get out of ministry after that incident. My art career started after I got out of the military. I never started drawing anything until I was 22. I was a founding member of Tsunami Studios in Greensboro, NC with Randy Green, Rick Ketcham and John Wycough. My first published work was with a comic book company called "Blindwolf Comics". Through the years I have worked with several companies, APE Entertainment, Upperdeck/Marvel and several computer gaming companies.I am in a place in my life where I am trying to find out what God's will is for me and where He wants me. I know He never gives you a talent or skill that He doesn't want you to use to bring His kingdom glory and I just want to be where He wants me to be.So, that is it. My life in a nutshell. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I have.
