  • she is a character coming up in Vol 2. of The Chronicles of the Kingdom. Her character is similar to Rahab in the Bible. (I might even change her name to Rahab). She is going to help out some of the main characters get across enemy lines. She is very worldly and foul mouthed (heck she is a harlot) but will learn the power of grace and become redeemed.

  • Nice! Who is she?

  • Good points Steve. I work with both styles. I noticed that using my digital pen allows me to have more control of and that the my line quality is better. Can  you look at some of my screen tests. Most are done with pen and ink then cleaned up digitally. would you look over some of my sketches and give me your honest feed back. I appreciate you, thanks.
  • There are definite pluses to digital inking, but cons too... although the cons tend to be on the romantic side.

Inking digitally may be quicker, cheaper, and more precise... but it can also tend to be cold, lacking the little imperfections that lend life to a drawing. It also lacks certain tactile qualities that may or may not be important to you- the tooth of the paper, the feel of the pen, the fluidity of the ink, as well as hand control and breathing. (I hold my breath when inking an awful lot.)

Also, there's nothing left to hold in your hand. No physical item that has immediate worth because it is the one-of-a-kind original.

Many folks go the digital route, I can't blame them, but I've been doing it so long at my job that I am now moving towards the old school pen and ink way in my own personal work. (I'm also looking to branch out into watercolors to move away from digital painting/coloring.)

One other pro to traditional pen-and-ink inking... you can always work, even when the power goes out.
