  • thanks nathan. illustrator is good but MS is much better, feels more natural to me. With digital you really no longer have to ink.I like your stuff I think it would look good in pencil and splash colors

  • Hmm I'll have to check out MS. I'm using illustrator but inking is not my strength so its kinda a chore. Your stuff is looking really good D.L.
  • I think MS is better hands down. It is a tool created specifically for making comics. Where Illustrator is for graphic design. I drew this image using illustrator http://www.christiancomicarts.com/photo/pauh-screen-test?context=user

I like how the lines are cool, clean and crisp. I didnt take long either using the Wacom tablet. But Manga studio's brushes for inking have a more realistic feel. The 4EX even has a vector brush that works like Illustrator. I flip back and forth form using the raster and vector brushes. Fine detail the raster bush rocks but for a cleaner look with less clean up the vector is the way to go. Check out some of the webinars on the SmithMicro site for MS. It is what sold me. After watching I went out and got it (FOR FREE from Frys... Yes free). They offer it that way from time to time. I just got a the free Debut verion for a friend a few weeks ago. Frys.com gives out 100% rebate coupons on selected software every few months. MS is normally on the list.

  • I'm loving it man. Your work shows growth and development everytime you post. You and Mel. Todd.. Man both of you guys are bringing it. I love hearing your thoughts about what you are going to do. I like to see how your mind works when it comes to your craft. It makes me want to make sure that I keep growing in my art.  It's inspiring.  I'm even going to check out your recommendation about Manga Studio when I get a chance.  Like I want to really learn illustrator when I have a moment, but I feel Manga studio might be less headache.  But that it can still get the job accomplished when it comes to inking. It's good for inking right?

  • Cobra Chung. You have seen him before on my posts. I now developed him a little more. I worked long and hard trying to figure out how to do the Yakuza styled tattoos. I think I got it. Its gonna be interesting figuring out how to make it look right on each panel. there is going to be a bath house scene where planned where he is in only a towel and that his tattoos are gonna really show. Its going to be a chore to color. But I figured out a way to make it work smooth and easy!
