Wonder Woman

Just finished reading a pretty good Wonder Woman novel and along with that and Cathryn being such a big fan of her too I wanted to do a shot of her. I still don't like the 'uniform' she wears so I designed one myself. I can't figure out if I like this picture or not. I like aspects of it and dislike others. Its hard to see past the flaws that I know are there.

  • The uniform is both cool looking and functional. The tight pants allow her to move while it looks like she has a heavier weighted material for her boots and vest. Plus the black gloves with steel gauntlets are also very functional looking. As for the pose. Its a nice action shot. Its good to see this. So many times artists take a porn pin up as a reference and add some uniform items and think they have a good piece, (not!). Your piece is refreshing to see.

  • Kent..you KNOW my opinion's very biased, my friend...gold ink flows from your pen, my friend...BTW...don't lose the goatee!
  • From a female standpoint I find it easy to identify with this drawing. The figure is realistically proportioned. I agree with Michael, and I never did understand how the Golden Age Wonder Woman fought baddies in a strapless bustier. Modesty aside, it's as impractical as trying to mow the lawn in a wedding gown. She did have a better wardrobe in the seventies, when she was hanging out with I-Ching.
  • I believe we all see the flaws or slight imperfections in our work. Some say thats how we are distiguished from the other . That lil' twist of the pencil is our own visual I.D.
Now, back to WW. I'm a big fan of the work the Dobsons do on her so I'm partial. I like how you placed her in modest apperal. Nice fluid posture and the flame in her eyes! your redition(flaws inclided) is still pretty sweet.- great job!

  • You did a great job of making her costume more modest. You work is really good.

I'm the same way with my artwork. I constantly find flaws everywhere. ( my stuff, not your )LOL

Aside from that, the main thing I notice is the inking. This one doesn't quite have the "weight" that you put into the "SpaaaaaceGhoooost" pic. Tho that could be becuz she's a woman and women require softer details. LOL
