You like the first one better huh Michael, interesting...thats art I guess, so subjective, you just never know who is going to like what, right? My wife liked the green one too, mostly because it made the eye stand out a lot more. Technically, the second one is much tighter I think. Thats really my goal at this point, to get my stills up to par. I still have a lot to learn, but its a fun ride. Thanks for the comments.
Hey There Christina, thanks for the nice words. As for the brush strokes my goal really wasn't to make sure you can see them, some you can some you cant, I am okay with that. The bone looking bleached is what I was shooting for, looks kinda cool huh. I really played around with many of the brush settings, and also used overlay a lot when adding the colors.
wow, that is much better, to me it seems like the highlights on the face there indicate that the bone is coming out, like it's being bleached, are you wanting the brush strokes left in the picture? If so, don't smudge as much, the wet edges did a wonder of a job on it, the metal is MUUUUUCH better ^^

Okay, here is another version for you guys to check out. I took the advice from several of you who were kind enough to give some some ideas. I worked with a wet edge brush, did a re color moving away from the green and yellow and more towards a bronze and bone, which is kind of funny since those were the colors I originally wanted to use. I utilized the dodge and burn much more and worked more detail in to the lower neck where there wasnt really any detail in the original inked version. I am still looking for advice for creating that painterly look in photoshop. See what you think. Oh, I also saved it at a higher resolution so you can see more the detail. Enjoy.
