  • Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic(Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)

To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

  • HI Richard,

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS! If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site. We'll be making several announcements in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
  • AAWWWW!! What a cutie! You mentioned "adopted"... I wonder if an adoption agency will let members of MY extended family adopt photogenic kids, to make up for the fact that we look like a herd of lowland trolls? : D
  • i>I'm still trying to pick an avatar. My baby pictures are not all that cute. You could always do what I did. Use someone else baby picture. That face is actually the adopted son of a family member. Since he's so popular around here, here's a few more. (I hope this works.)

  • Re: Heart X-ray: I'm still trying to pick an avatar. My baby pictures are not all that cute. They were taken at Area 51 and some of the pictures have the mother ship in the background.
  • You're more than welcome! You'll find your way around soon enough! Hopefully you'll get as much out of this fellowship as you possibly can! Good people here...
  • Welcome to the CCAS web site. I pray thay you enjoy the fellowship and share some of your talents with us.

    Be Blessed Clint
  • great pic, man. Welcome to the gang.
  • DinoDan,

I will contact Jansen and Yong, regarding Alpha Omega. I'm glad to see they are still going strong. They're a fun group.

I'm specifically interested in getting copies of my submittals for the years I was active in AO. (As I mentioned elsewhere, my back issues were stolen, along with a large box of comics.)

I wrote at least one or two columns about Larry Norman, and my interest in his music and ministry. You may know that Larry passed away last month, and I'm thinking about creating a Larry Norman website.

Perhaps I can share some more later. I assume Yong's AO alumni series is being run in AO? Anyway, Don, thanks for making me feel welcome here.
  • Richard,

Welcome to the CCAS web site. It's great to see another AO
alumni resurfacing. I hope we can get caught up on what has happened in your life since the 1990s.

As to your question about back issues of AO. Eric Jansen is our Assistant Central mailer and he has some back issues (however they are from maybe the past 3 years) for the cost of postage.
    Eric's e-mail is ericjansen@netzero.net

Also if you are interested Kevin Yong our current AO central mailer is doing a series on AO alumni and I'm sure he'd enjoy hearing from you. He is at kevin@crosshatchery.com

    God bless

    DinoDon
