  • Thanks for the welcome & the info.  I was living in Rosemead/El Monte area last year & was told I had been put on the email list, but hadn't ever heard anything else.  A lot was going on, so I didn't follow up.  I'm living a bit further out in the Antelope Valley now, still technically SoCal.  I'm still interested in the meetup, but I might be less likely to show this year.  At any rate, thanks for the head's up.  :)

  • Thanks for the greeting, Ralph. It was summer of 2012 at Heroescon in Charlotte when God first hit me with the sense that conventions were great places to reach people for Jesus. Comics, novels, games, and more are excellent mediums for reaching the lost. Been to Heroescon again since, and went to Dragoncon down in Atlanta this summer. Only confirmed my suspicions. I believe if Paul was around today he'd be at conventions. I was excited to find out there are others out there who have a heart for reaching out to people at these places. Looking forward to getting involved with others on this site, and seeing what God will do.

  • Hello Ralph! Thanks for the warm welcome! I would like to join the meeting in La Mirada this Saturday, so I will see if I can arrange it. As for my affection for the Milestone line, there are a lot of layers to that (one of which has to do with the fact that I identify more strongly with Afro-American faith and worship i.e. gospel music), but the simplified version simply has to do with being bored with the tailoring to a suburban/traditional comic book audiences. Static and Blood Syndicate, and the "big bang" concept which gave these characters in these books their powers was brilliant and compelling and mercifully non-suburban.

  • Thanks, greatings from Old Blighty!(England) and may the Lord blessyou!

  • Thank you so much!  I am so pleased to know your daughter is doing well!  We are not really disabled... we are really differently-abled.   I have taken as my life's passage I Corinthians 1:18-31.  Since our purpose is to bring Glory to God through every day events then it is my great hope that when people see me they do not consider what I am unable to do they see the complexity of a Creator God through whom I can do all things.

  • Thanks so much!

  • Thanks Ralph for the welcome!

  • Thanks Ralph!  Yes, family, deer, and porcupines!  The key is really family, but it's a long story why I moved to Wisconsin and a bit sobering, so I prefer the humorous short version.  I do get to see the occasional porcupine, and deer almost on a daily basis!

  • Yeah, I'm think of going to Emerald City Comicon and visiting their table.

  • Thanks Ralph, May God bless you also:)
