Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

I wanted to let you know about COMIX35's new pan-African Christian Comics Project, if you do not know about it already:
http://www.comix35.org/africa_project.html
Also COMIX35 has proposed a gathering of African Christian cartoonists and comic book producers at the LittWorld2009 World Conference of Christian Publishing in Nairobi, Kenya, November 1-6, 2009.
In addition to enjoying fellowship and discussion with other Christian comics producers, and hearing practical and inspirational talks by the LittWorld2009 speakers, attending artists will also have the opportunity to meet over 150 Christian writers, editors, and publishers from many different countries. Information on LittWorld2009 may be found here:
http://www.littworld.org/register/conferences.asp?lw=1&sa=0&...
Health permitting, I am planning to attend, and Didier Millotte, a professional comics artist from France, has also said that he hopes to be there.
However our intent in proposing this meeting in Kenya is not to gather a group of Africans together and tell them what they should be doing. Rather, we are proposing this as a connection point for African cartoonists in the hope that it may be a catalyst for more and greater Christian comics production in Africa. We are anticipating informal meetings together during break times, meals times, and evenings at the conference. These would be meetings led by Africans for Africans.
In addition, Francis Umendu Odupute ("Francodus"), a professional political cartoonist in Nigeria, has expressed interest in curating a "general theme" exhibition of Gospel comics, cartoons, graphics, drawings and paintings by African Christian artists during the conference. He has contacted Littworld2009 for permission to arrange this exhibition. If you are interested in participating, please contact Francis directly at this e-mail address: francodus@yahoo.com
Thank you for your time and attention, and I hope we might have the opportunity to meet in Nairobi this November, Lord willing.
In Christ,
Nate Butler

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
