Hi ya, I know you like Christian comics so I know you'll love The Word for WORD Bible Comic, (Unabridged, historically accurate graphic novel of the Bible with a high view of scripture. For ages 15+)
To complete the first book I need your help, as I am raising funds on Kickstarter. My passion is to get God's Word in full into the hands of young believer and unbelievers and comic lovers of all ages, in the hope they will come to really know God. Please check it out at the KS page, it's going well but I still need lots of backers so I hope as a CCAS member you'll please pledge to support this project...

You can imagine how much I'm probably doing the hard way.LOL!!
However, since the Holy Spirit is the prime teacher,I guess I've had to really rely on His direction to figure it all out as I go along. But it would really do me some good to share and also to draw upon someone else's experiences as well.So draw me a line whenever you feel the urge to indulge me in this matter,ok? Stay blessed,bro.....
so I can see If maybe I just need to connect in some other way,ok? Stay blesseed!!

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
The past several years I've been publishing an annual Guide to Christian Comics which gives a lot of info on what is happening in the movement. This year I've been doing a lot of reviews of Christian comics (with AO member Steve MacDonald) that are posted on this website under the reviews section.
Ralph Miley (and others) and I will be doing comics related projects together in the future-Lord willing. Since you are a Capt Marvel fan check out Golden Age Comics UK for free downloads of old Fawcett comics including Capt. Marvel.
God bless,
Don
do I need a different snail-mail for you, too? Let
me know. Also, please post a photo of yourself.
recent e-mails to you have bounced back. Recently
I sent you a snail-mail package. Did you receive it?
Or are you in FL most of the time now?
Thanks for the welcome. It's nice to meet someone with the same vision. Right after I posted my comment, I got concerned I was sounding "Holier than thou." I don't mean to but have seen a number of well produced Christian comics and had to ask "Where's our Saviour?" in the story.
I also support the idea of production teams. Tho the secular world's comics are basically in the toilet, they've developed a good production model.
It's been said that we as Christ's comic artists/writers are too protective of our creative "baby," and won't stand for handing some of the work off to another to produce comics more efficiently. For those of that mindset, I ask you to please consider what Jesus did for you. He died for you! He also died for me! And don't all our skills, talents, gifts come from Him? While we all love this visual medium shouldn't our efforts really be considered Ministry? Why not work together for this Ministry?
I'm still learning but this is lots of work. I met a very talented artist once (a Captain Marvel fan) and we talked about comics work. He shared his portfolio and his work was amazing! Sadly, he said that comics were too much work for the return of investment of time, sweat, etc.
It IS a lot! No doubt about it! All the better to find folks whose talents compliment each others to be able to produce more and better work on a timely basis (Is my fed government-speak showing?). Don't misunderstand... I'm not advocating that "more is better." Too often more is a lot less than better. But isn't there a chance that working together (in concert with the Holy Ghost) together we can produce more that actually IS better? One last thot; if I and other brothers/sisters in Christ are asking this question... don't you think there is a chance Jesus may ask us that question Himself one day when we're in His presence?
Having said that, I offer to help anyone with a need for scanning, coloring, lettering, and anything else I can do. I am working on inking and am not yet comfortable with tackling that, tho if you have throw away sketches, I'd love the chance to practice on someone else's pencils.
Well, thanks again for the warm welcome. I guess you can tell by now that I tend to ramble... Please excuse it. Hope I haven't offended anyone.
