Female..I hope that just because I'm stepping my dainty feet in a muscle-bound, tight-wearing, weapons-ablazing (kinda makes kung-fu pretty obsolete huh), war-raging, cape-flying, mutant-populating world of comic books won't make me less of a female. I mean, I haven't worn lipstick since I was 5--and my mom put it on me w/out MY consent!!
Area(s) of Interest or Expertise:
Interests: My Christian faith; knowing my Heavenly Father better. I get a healthy dose of the Lord's words each week. I enjoy drawing (haven't touched my pencil in a while so my skills are a bit rusty right now), finding inspirations, comic books, cookbooks, kite-flying although I always fail on each attempt, spending time with my dog, Obi (a shiba inu) and my little sister, surf the web, going to the beach, use my imagination, cooking, learning Spanish, taking pictures--we're living in a busy world so you gotta make sure you're picking roses to smell later, by that I meant memories to treasure. And yeah I always got room for something new like snail-watching.
Expertise: Ahh..you know, the things women are "great" at, like lecturing, cooking, organizing, multi-tasking, knowing where to get something that's altogether cheap, durable and worthy of their spending. Nagging and "persuading" (muahahaha!). And then there's being really nice..so nice, kind and gentle that I can make my boss feel like she's smaller than I am, it's not me, it's just guilt. I guess I have a split personality where one is a public persona and the other is just..chaos. I'm a master--NO, "THE" master of NOCTURNAL. Finally, I don't consider myself anywhere near "good" as an artist because there's always a reason to keep growing and NEVER STOP, or maybe I just suck.
My Testimony: (We encourage members to share briefly about how their faith in Christ has impacted their lives.)
CHRIST, where do I even start with him. He's impacted my life a GREAT DEAL. I was not who I am right now before I had a relationship with Jesus Christ; I was in a dark, deep PIT with nowhere to go--in other words, I was MISERABLE in every turn of LIFE. Through grace I was lifted up by Him and He gave me a totally new outlook on life, He empowered me with His wisdom and man it does wonder in my life. One of the greatest things in life is not just knowing, but having the assurance that all my questions will be and have been answered through He who knows all and sees all. Because I'm learning to walk by spirit and by faith through Lord Jesus Christ, my life packs a punch beyond that of all superheroes imaginable. God will always be my Superman (who is without a weakness) in my book. And my Superman can beat the JLA, the JSA, Spawn, EVEN The Beyonder..what have you, ANY DAY.
and R.I.P to my mom who died earlier this month on the 3rd of January, 2010 from diabetes complication. God rests her soul. I love you mommy.
Dream Job: (If you could have your dream job in the comics industry, what would it be?)
I would love to create something entirely unique of my own instead of belonging in a commercialized or brand-name industry--great or small. I would love to be able to influence others in a positive way if not in a meaningful way through Christ and what I've learned from Him. This world is looking so ugly because evil has poisoned and brain-washed everyone from the youth to the grown, poignantly put, IT PISSES ME OFF (gasp! There is a HULK in me after all). Although I'm working on building myself up by my faith in God, my greatest dream is to put a sword through evil's eye, that's all =)
Favorite Comic Creators:
Artists: Jim Lee, Joe Mad, David Finch, Mico Suayan, Alvin Lee, Ivan Reis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Brooks, Ed Benes, Adi Granov and I've yet to find MORE inspiration from new-found artists.

Ma'am, hello there. Are you still doing comics? If so and you want a little art commission, please draw me a 'Raegan and RJ in Space!' picture or sketch, e-mail it to me at ranger5xrmc@aol.com and I will purchase it and send you $30. Go to my web site for ideas. You can do pencil, computer, whatever. My web site is http://www.raeganandrjinspace.com where my Christian space story is. It is a story about some Christians who colonize other stars with no violence, guns, or battles. It is just about friends, faith, family, and freedom. When you send me your art I will post it in the 'amazing art' section with your name on it for kids all over the world to enjoy. I will also put the link to your web site to get you some more traffic. While you are at my site, you can download a free graphic novel and video game I have for the kids. Okay hope you can do the sketch for the kids. God Bless. Rich Collins

Welcome aboard! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the new CCAS Board members. I wanted to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS!
I hope you can come to the L.A. area local meeting which is actually right on the border between L.A. and Orange County! Ping Kevin Yong here on the site to get the info. In fact, you might have him post it on the events page here! You'd probably meet Holly at that meeting, so you might ping her here too. :)
If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site.
To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.
Can you post or join in a forum discussion topic, post your own blog entry or upload your art or video now? :)
At Your Service,

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
