I am illustrating Raising Dragons (by Bryan Davis) into a graphic novel. This session of Quick Draw demonstrates me shading page 29 in Manga Studio EX 4 and a Wacom Bambo Fun Drawing Tablet.It took me an hour and a half to shade panel 1. The entire page was easily 3-4 hours of total work. This is the last stage of the process of creating a comic book page. Pencils - Inks - Colors - Shades & finishing touches.     If you keep your text and bubbles on a separate layer, then you can color the entire panel, and simply position the words wherever you want without worry. It does mean that there is a full image underneath, which means a little more drawing to be done, but I prefer it that way.

    I am torn. I am going to do the letters during the inking stage. But only draw back is that if the colorist colors around the text bubbles, and you find you have to edit text or move a bubble then you are back to having to color the blank area... But as always I learn something from watching you work. I flat in MS but now I am going to start adding tones and see what I get
