  • Spiritman Daily Dose 106 - In case you missed yesterday's post... Carlos was about to shoot while Spiritman was recovering his shield. Today's image shows Spiritman ducking behind his shield as bullets are being deflected.

The shield of faith. A couple of days ago I mistakenly stated that the shield represented righteousness. Actually, in Ephesians the apostle Paul uses the breastplate to represent righteousness. Throughout the scriptures there are many metaphors used to illustrate the role of righteousness in our lives, eg. mountains, a belt, a robe. Paul also wrote about how faith leads to righteousness.

"What does Scripture say? 'Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.' Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." Romans 4:3-5 NIV
