Past Bryce. Good point. Here are my "never to be humble opinions" (yet again... sigh). My son has a 22 cal semi auto 20 magazine Assault rifle. In fact it is ruger 10/22 my dad bought for me when I was a kid. Back then it only had a 10 round mag and walnut finish. But now it all spec ops looking and GI Joe. He has used it since he was about 7 yrs old. I trust him with it because as his Dad I taught him the right way to respect and handle a gun. (Just like my dad did me). Conversely I wont buy my daughter abortion pills. I (and my wife) have raised her that she is a young woman in Christ. That her sexuality is sacred and a gift from God. That it is not hers to do with as she wishes but something God trusted her with to give to her husband on her wedding night. Now in both cases we gave both children great responsibilities and entrusted them with potentially dangerous things. It is their CHOICE on how they handle it.
NOTE: Before anyone starts about the 7 yrs old with an assault rifle thing. training to build good habits start early. Its a way of life for me and the men of my family. Its are tradition, you have yours and we have ours. As for us, we are men who serve, and we are shooters. That's what Maffett men do. Be it SWAT, Airborne, Infantry, DEA, Police, Sheriff's, USMC etc. you name it and we are (or were) there. That's who we are... If you don't agree that's fine and your choice, I respect your view and I love you with the love of Christ. But I leave you with this - Remember your criticisms when you call 911 for someone else to to handle or protect you against what you couldn't, cant, or simply were not mentally prepared to encounter. (think about it). Also my son is 18 now and a much better shot that I am...

Good thoughts, guys. Yes, the depravity of man is always the real issue, and the gospel of Christ is always our only hope. But when this kind of inconsistency is pointed out, I believe God can use it to get people thinking about the question of, "If we rightly feel an impulse to protect our children (even if our 'solutions' are more 'feel good' than effective), then why doesn't that extend to those in the womb?" Less abortions and a more conscientious gun-society will not save anyone or make us less sinful, but I think we all agree that, relatively speaking, those are still good goals.
Personaly i think if neither guns or pills existed, we humans would just find something else to kill oursleves with. Education is the key.....The knowledge of Jesus Christ" if everyone had Jesus in their hearts, we wouldn't have the mentality to pick either of these killers up and use em.. My 2 cents of the day.
The cartoon is clever, well designed page and the faces are skillfully done. Pro job, Bryce.
However the cartoon is just as biting if the business owner is ironically forbidding the pills while holding onto the assault rifle. I agree with DL, self-serving and loveless motives and choices are the rollercoaster to hell.

By the way, don't you love how editorial cartoons get people talking? :)

"Love him or hate him now you know him..."
Here is something to think about Assault weapons nor abortion pills kill people. It is the EVIL CHOICES people make. That is what kill people.
Hey I got an idea... Lets outlaw pencils because I just cant seem to get my illustrations right.
