A quick tip that I've known for a long time - but finally was voiced by the infamous John K. of Ren & Stimpy fame: Lines don't exist, SHAPES exist.
I can see that your starting to work on the volumes of your characters, and clarity. Keep it up. See if you can really start working with shape and form some more.
