  • Heh! The two issues you reference are not of themselves secular.

I wrote one of the first online tutorials by NASA for Ozone depletion in 1994, on the same airfield where research planes were flying out with CO2 sensors on a weekly basis. Had a chance to shake hands with some of the researchers who spent years of their lives gathering and studying antarctic ice cores, these people know their climate science. Also I belonged to the California chapter Origins Research Society and have taught classes in Evolution and Population genetics for over a decade and a half.  I would looove to talk about either of these topics with anyone, but CCAS isn't the forum for that. Long discussions can be carried out if we "Friend" each other, then send back and forth emails that way

  • I used the term hijack because like may institutions created by Christians, humanists and atheists have taken over so many of them. The Royal Society today is very anti-Christian and embraces Darwinism, climate change, etc...
  • Amen!

Of course 'secular humanist' have no power to hijack anything except their own imaginations, which is a rather comedic image on its own. Sometimes they're aware of their limitations, reflected in the whimsical names that are given to things like "the God particle" for the Higgs Boson; and then they dive back into investigating the details and forget the Creator.

Like you touched on (through Art Newvo) the data and studies themselves are not evil but are merely pulling back a bit more of the curtain of creation. The power to do new things induces tough choices which are rightfully made by a redeemed heart.
