The furnace. Notice that the astrologers tattled on the 3 after being shown up by Daniel. While Daniel was promoted high up, he could only promote his friends so much. The astrologers weren't going to tell on Daniel - he saved their lives, but they had to save face in front of the king and in turn, the king had to save face to his people. We'd all be better off without saving our faces.
