I was reading some of the other posts about Kirby's beliefs and I remember a single issue of Captain America where he was fighting Batroc the Leaper, trying to defuse a bomb that could destroy New York. When he realized the danger, Batroc fled, surprised that Cap would lay down his life for others. As Batroc ran off, Cap's response was "There was another... who did the same." Neither here nor there but I thought it was a surprisingly nice touch and very welcome.
I think he was born Jewish, but I am not sure if he practiced very much, I may be totally wrong. I think he was mostly secular in his worldview. However, he found a lot of inspiration from the Bible. I saw an interview of him saying the Bible inspired the Silver Surfer and other characters.

Absolutely Ian! I think everyone who is a fan of the superhero genre is a Kirby fan whether they realize it or not since his influence is still prevalent today. From comics to animation, Jack remains the definitive super hero comic style. Hmm, I think that gives me an idea for a blog post.

Yes, he was a Jew by birth, but I don't know if he practiced. I get the idea from his work that he was a theistic evolutionist.

I'm not exactly sure what his religious stance was, but he made reference to God in a lot of his comics.
