done in 2004. I was experimenting with ways to achieve a finished product quickly here. I was getting really bogged down with trying to work on a big epic story by myself, so I wanted a very short story but still long enough to have Characters and drama? I tried to create fairly finished art straight off without worrying about page layout (thinking I could assemble the frames in Photoshop later & this pretty much worked)- i was struggling to get motivated and hadn't been doing any comic work so I just went with this inspiration when it hit me and I didn't stop 'till it was finished. So the story is pretty 'raw' and unedited and I hope that means it's straight from the heart. I was also experimenting with the idea of using 'hand written lettering' to speed up production. not long after I first finished it though, I started learning the old 'Architect style' of lettering- so I replaced the original text. the resulting style was better but in some places it's crammed. My architect writing has improved a lot as I sketch with it all the time now- but I've gone back to the digital font because it comes out so clean. -but I'd like to do some more raw comics with hand lettered stuff one day, it feels so cool when it's working for you.
