Betty is the proverbial girl next door. Shes the one who always reembers your birthday, makes you chicken soap and sends a card when you're sick, and bakes you apple pies, "just because". She is also athletic , smart, and wholesome... unfortunately she is in love with a jerk, Archie who literally treats her, in my view, like his "second string girl" . When ever Veronica is bored with Archie, or Mr. Lodge, Veronica's dad throws Archie out of his house, Archie KNOWS he can always crawl back to good old reliable Betty Cooper to lick his wounds, kiss his cheek and bake him an apple pie. Betty doesn't have enough self esteem in this area to kick Archie to the curb, Archie KNOWS that....
