@Brian yeah I love those! I see painted ladies all the time in the mid to late summer, we always get an influx of butterflies at that time :)
Ah, so lovely El Paso does have a few bright spots.
We have a couple of midsize butterflies native to our Central Coast, the Painted Lady and the California Buckeye that are quite eye-catching but lack the Swallotail's bright yellow.
I see them daily here where I am from :)
