  • also, Gerard, i'd be remiss in my duty if i fail to mention that a pose-able figure and a strong light source like a snake-neck lamp will really help you figure out those shadows!

  • thanks Gerard! take heart because it get's easier as you progress, believe me when i say that sometimes it can still take alotta effort to make things look acceptable. when i draw as an act of worship and try to focus on it like that, then things come together real smoothly and kinda just fall into place, more often than not. and instead of drawing what you "see", try conveying your eye's individual impression of what you're seeing or envisioning, and imagine yourself tracing a grid on the surface of your subjects, like the lines around a globe or the 3D wireframes animators use. ;)

  • i want to resin this real thick and see if those little fingerlights from the dollar store will light it up, it's about 3x5, just noticed that the image is cropped, idk why that happened
