The Shaggy Otter

My first Houdini Appretence render...At least I got lucky with the watermark not hitting anything....This project really made me never want to delve into any 3D production whatsoever! I started out with MAYA's fur silmulator which isn't for beginners, and neither was anything else I tried...but Houdini did all this automatically...even the light version starts out with a paint anything tab for fur attributes...but it crashes after every stroke because it absorbs ram much worse than Firefox does (which steals all the ram for any javascript it finds on a webpage, FYI). Well it still doesn't work since It doesnt match the 3D texture map underneath (see week 10 of link above) but it was far better than my previous attempts in any other software...I still have yet to see Blender offer any of these features...I could've avoided all this fuss if I modeled a more human character like everyone else, but I needed some fasionable way to hide that I never wanted to have to take this class in the first place, I never want to do any production work other than directing on my own, that I never payed attention to how to create basic hair much less otter fur via the process he showed us through class, and that I don't like humans anyway so I never wanted to UV unwrap and texture one in the first palce! I know I had even more reasons than that, but I've forgotten them at the moment since they probably number in the thousands....
