  • Hey Lisa, Thanks so much for your advice, yes I'm doing an Associate Degree in Graphic Design, I really wanted to do either illustration or Animation, but they don't have it available in my country as yet. When i'm finish with the As. I want to do my Bsc. in Animation for sure. I love comics and cartoons. I'm even working on a children's book. Actually, seeing that do comics maybe you can help me out?. I'll keep adding some sketches. Also I'll add the first draft of my characters, so you can look at. Brian Jeffrey Durham sent me a free 2d Animation software called pencil, So it will help me start. Thanks so much again this community is truly a blessing to be a part.
  • o my goodness, Michele! I remember those days..we had to keep multiple sketchbooks for class assignments^^ Are you attending a university for a degree, or are you just attending for practice? I see you use lots of line, something I was reprimanded for in art school, but something that made me a pretty darn good inker! If you want to go for realism, I suggest you scale back on using line and begin to define your objects with shape or tones of color with your charcoal. If it's difficult to see tones, squint a little and you'll notice what stands out in value! You have good representation skills, keep on practicing and you'll do just great!
  • I'm practising, this was a class assignment. I was trying to get some shadows and dept in it.
  • i'm just curious... are you practicing conical technique on the hands, or are the subjects finger tips flat at the top?
  • This is some sketches I did in class.
