  • Hi Shannon, thanks for adding me. I liked your picture of the Watchman character. You can see mine of the same name on my page if you're interested.
  • Hello there!
  • Thanks man. Peace.
  • Glad to meet you Shannon! I'm currently developing a Comic Ebook about how unbelieving super heroes handle the End of Days. As far as my Byrne and Claremont Inspirations, I enjoyed their work on the Uncanny X-men Series: Byrnes clean pencils and Claremont's in depth plots. Too bad they could not get along. They made a great team.
  • I want to write and I have lot of ideas but I have no time, I have to study, exercise my fait and I am trying to getin my family to christ
  • HI Shannon,

Welcome aboard! I'm Scott A. Shuford, one of the CCAS Board members. I want to stop in and say thanks for being involved with CCAS!

If you have any input or would like to be involved with anything in particular, please let me and Eric Jansen (Membership Coordinator for CCAS) know by contacting us both through the site.

We are looking for someone to serve as the prayer coordinator for the group. We are also looking for writers who would like to interview industry people and write up articles for us. If either of those tug on your heart, then please contact me.

To see a bit more about me, check out my profile here on the site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better.

Can you post or join in a forum discussion topic, post your own blog entry or upload your art or video now? :)

    At Your Service,

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:
"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased."
  • Shannon writes..." I work in a prison as a chaplain and pastor a church full-time. Your comics would be a great tool to share the gospel in the prison. I just may have to purchase some from you."

Shortly after publishing the first book in the EW series I made a dedicated effort to approach prison's around the country about making my books available and outside of a few openings...really hit a wall of buraucracy. If you'd like to get some for your ministry I'll do my best to help. In the shopping cart on our site (www.headpress.info) enter coupon code "retail" and you can get 50% off the cover price.

"How did you get started and who and what where your inspiration?"

Without trying to reproduce my whole testimonial...it was definately a God-thing, as I was inspired to tell the Passion story (and later the book of Acts) through the tools God has gifted me with. In the decade of the '90's I had created and published my own secular comics, but eventually ran myself out of captial and left the industry. HE brought me back, but with a different motivation...to expand the Kingdom!

"As a pastor I do not have a lot of free time to draw and write... but what you make priority you have time for. Do you work presently outside of drawing comics? "

Nope...this is all I do, outside of being Mr. Mom and a husband. For me this is more a ministry than a business project, as I never approached this wondering how much I could make, rather, how many can I touch! I've been blessed by God with a situation that has allowed me to dedicate my last 8 years to this and not have to worry about my having to pay the mortgage.

"Very interested in talking to you and possibly a friendship."

That would be great! Feel free to email with any questions you may have (headpresspublish@aol.com)...and of course there's lots of info about EW and me at: www.headpress.info
