Broken Wings.

It has been a while since we had a post, but at least this one will be filled with lots of news. First off this Friday we will begin production of our TOP SECRET project "Broken Wings." While this will be held under wraps until it's release, we will release some details about the project.

It will be a full color comic book featuring the artwork of Jamie Cosley.
It will be our first comic book available in print in both English and Spanish.
It will be free in digital format (in English) via the iBooks store, readable on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

Advertising Opportunities

There is some great news at Salinas Slugger Studios, due to growth weare now going to abandon high cost digital printing and begin publishingeverything via offset printing. What does this mean, lower prices forthe consumer, higher profits for the company, and now the ability tooffer low cost efficient advertising. Advertising is now being acceptedfor Priscilla #3 due out mid September. The print run will be 1,000copies and the rates are as follows, Back Cover $30 ($0.03) per book andInside back cover $25 ($0.025) These are for full page rates. I've donea bit of advertising myself and I would say in my opinion about $0.11per book is average for advertising so really we blow the competitionaway, and you are talking at least $1,100 to get your ad in there. Stilltoo much you say? Find a partner split the page and cost. Right now I'm working on a Western Christian Graphic Novel "Retribution". I will be creating a special limited edition of 100 hard cover preview of the story. I need 2-3 pinups based on characters from the story. Winners will receive a free Preview book featuring their art as well as the first issue. Spirit West Coast Monterey Summary

One thing I was worried about before going to this years edition ofSpirit West Coast Monterey was I had such a great time at last yearsevent, there was no way I could have as good of a time. No need toworry however, once again my entire family had a great time. I met somegreat new people, and caught up with some old SWC friends.

Anotherworry I had was the date of the event. I was kinda scared it might be aghost town being that usually everyone loves to spend time with theirfamily during a 4th of July weekend. Well it wasn't a ghost town, butattendance was down 40% this year. Sounds pretty bad huh? Well lucky forus we sold more books this year than last!

I just wanted tothank some people because with out them, I wouldn't have such a greattime! First off of course my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. Jim KagelJr., Jamie Cosley, and Eric Merced. They are the true super stars of myministry. My Parents Joe and Adalia Pereira for their amazing support!My wife for letting me be me! Love you baby! My children that are hereJoey and Jayden for being such good boys while I exhibited at the event.To my soon to be child Joshua for not coming out sooner!!! It reallywould of put me in a pickle! Alternate Cover

With Priscilla issue #1 only about two weeks away from release I wanted to announce that we will be having an alternate cover! The alternate cover will be a limited edition of only 200 and is only available through CrownJr.com, or through the artist of the cover, Jamie Cosley. Once the supplies are exhausted we will switch to Eric Merced's cover. Well that's all the news we have for now, have a great week!

Priscilla Issue #1 Update

In case you didn't know we wrapped up the Tower of Babel webcomic lastweek. I hope those who read and followed the story enjoyed it! JamieCosley told me I should put the webcomic in print, thought it was agood idea, and we are working on that right now. We will have twocovers a Retail Version available at Indyplanet and Comics Monkey withthe cover done by Eric Merced. The direct version will feature art doneby Jamie Cosley and will be available only through our website for alimited time. Eric Merced is also doing the page setups for the bookand is doing a great job. The scheduled release for the book is March16th but at this rate will possibly be moved up by two weeks. BreakingNews!!! Eric Merced just got me the files so we will have the book alot sooner than expected. As you may or may not know each book we putin print we donate to a specific cause per title sold. For this titlewe will donate $0.25 to pro-life ministries. This past summer we meetmembers from the group Rock for Life, and learned so much. My heart gota big tug to help them out and that's exactly what we are going to do.

Tower of Babel will be our last project..........

Tower of Babel will be our last project we do.............in 2010 anyways. :) I know a little dramatic, but you know it's a little sad to know that I won't be doing a Crown Junior project for probably 18 months.........In one years time we put out 4 comic books and really that's awesome as I thought I would have only have had 2 done at this time. The Tower of Babel has been coming out great and super artist Jamie Cosley has been knocking out the park in every scene. I feel really fortunate to have worked with him on this project. This Project should wrap up next month, and be in print about the same time.The Reason I'm going to stop producing Crown Junior titles for a while is that I want to work on another project that I have been working on for a while. I won't announce any details until I get the cover done, but i'm really excited to do it. It's a whole different direction than what I have done before and I'm ready for the challenge. It will be a Christian comic book. So I hope I got your blessings .......The story of Garden of Eden will get done, just not as soon as I previously thought.Thanks for your Support and Prayers,-Pete-
