Discussing the very real possibility of a convention devoted to Christian fans and pros who enjoy comics, science fiction, fantasy, gaming, costuming, steam punk and everything geeky.
Convention Theme Song
Erik Pineda said my new song sounds like a theme song for a Christian superhero. https://soundcloud.com/jotham-david-parker/truth-shortish-edit You guys should use it (or the longer original version) for the convention somehow. I think it fits really well. Or you can just rock out to it while you're drawing. Either way, enjoy!

Yeah, I guess that's true. :)
P.S. - you could have posted that on the discussion….I'm so desperate for just one response!! D:
I think the audience for this con is pretty straightforward. It's for Christians who like imaginative fiction and art. I think that's an adequately specific group.
Oh, ok. The Vision, Motivation... one. Cool.
The one that's not closed, haha
Hailey, which discussion are you talking about?
P.S. - I updated my discussion if anyone wants to ale a look…or actually respond, seeing I haven't really gotten any yet, haha.
The following is copied and pasted from the comment I posted on the discussion initially announcing the plan for this whole event:
I've seriously dreamed that someday there would be comic convention like this. I think it's a great idea that can not only unify the christian comic artists community in vision and art, I believe it will do many things to shape God's kingdom with comics and let people know there is actually good Christian media. I actually hope that someday there will be a large following of Christian nerds to create quality science fiction/fantasy/nerdy/etc. media/entertainment that ranges from Christians comic books to christian video games and MMORPGs and even christian movies and TV shows in this genre. If we can pull together and put all our creative genius together with the power of the holy spirit, I have no doubt we can accomplish great things by reaching out and getting through to some of the most passionate and dedicated people in the world: nerds. It's like a mission impossible team of misfits, haha. (btw, I've never seen mission impossible, so if I applied that wrong, woe is me:P)
By the way, just to clarify what I'm saying here, I'm talking about christian stuff…by world of warcraft I meant some kind of epic christian MMORPG we could develop through the christian geeks we start bringing together and discipling or whatever.
Totally! Who are we aiming at….and namely, why? If anything I have to say from my own personal experience, geeks and nerds are some the most passionate and dedicated people in the world. Here we can unite all that energy into an unstoppable force for God through our art, comics, video games, sci fi, zombies, and more! I think our target audience should be geeks, nerds, and fanatics. We should range from comics to tv shows to movies to video games to world of warcraft, and more! I think we could easily enough develop these things over time as we bring together believers that are all crazy geeks like us.
I agree with George Macas - we need to decide who our audience is before we can plan a convention that will appeal to them. I suggest we focus on that topic first.
