well if no one's even tried out 3D yet, this monster may be too much for you...I'd suggest starting with Wings, K3D, or some other smaller program....for the more well versed 3D people here, what are your opinions on the new version of Blender?

Yes. I've tried blender. I tried Wings as well. Depends on what you're thinking. From my experience... limited as it may be... neither blend and especially not wings is very useful without an old 3 button, lazer, no scroll wheel mouse. Wings doesn't even seem like the same program when you have such a mouse. IBM used to make these mouses for office work, it seems after there has been some change of ownership, the mouse is no longer made by IBM. These programs were both developed when such mouses were easy to get. Now, it is a slight more challenging.
