Yet another noteworthy Webcomic

Beyond the Western Deep is a beautifully crafted anthro fantasy. The two artist-writers are very immersed in this medieval fantasy that compares nicely to the Redwall series.

However, why I think this web story might be more noteworthy for those of us into trying to create web stories, is the additional shop-talk that follows each page of the strip. The creators show one or too rough drafts and explain their thinking in the page composition and story pacing. The comments section that follows the shop talk flounders in inside jokes and drivel, but the shop talk and drafts are worthwhile to learn from.

  • Shalom! How's your side of the Vineyard? More grace? I'm worki ng on an Android app for teens and I'm looking forward to featuring a comic that would be in one of the columns. The comic may be a series that would be co ntinued weekly or otherwise. I dont know if you have anything.
  • Runners, an online comic by Sean Wang, also has a running commentary on the artistic decisions he made on each piece. Sean is a long time comic pro, so Runners , a Sci-Fi adventure, is as good or better than most comics you would pull off of a rack.

  • Bookmarked it. Looks cool.
