CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS

Questions about CCAS

I'm asking these questions here because I could not find the answers on this website or anywhere else.

How long has this site been around? When exactly was it created?

I would have joined along time ago if I knew about it. I used to be in DeviantArt but all of my friends started getting into Yaoi and other perverted stuff, and I just felt I had to leave. It felt like there were NO christians at all there.

(The next questions pertain to if it's an older site) Has there been other layouts? Or new features? Or has it mostly been the same?

Do changes (like new features) occur often? I'm just curious. I have only been here for a few months. Hope to see this site grow and grow. :)

Thanks to anyone who has been around here for a long time and can answer these questions!

  • Thanks for the information.

    I just hope this site grows! It seems so little of the current members are actually active. I look once a week and am always disappointed to see the most recent art is just one of my own pics. -_-;

    Since 2007? I can't believe that. I wish I would have found this site a long time ago.

    Perhaps if the site grows more popular it will grow new features as well. It seems a shame to be limited to what one website can do. I miss alot of the Deviantart features. Like updates on your website and not in your e-mail.

  • Hi! I know what it's like to discover other Christians in fandom and feel like "I thought I was the only one!"

    As a group, the Christian Comic Arts Society has been around for over 25 years in other forms (a printed Amateur Press Association, as local meetings and convention ministries, etc.) but this particular website of the CCAS has been around since 2007 (if memory serves.)

    We've had a few cosmetic changes to the layout over the years, and we've had a slow rollout of new features since we first set it up. But it's mostly stayed the same general format: a mix of personal blog pages, art galleries for critique/review, and discussion forums. (I'm not the webmaster, but as I understand it: the social networking features here are built around the "Ning.com" platform, so the rate of features being changed or added for us as users largely depends on what the developers at Ning are offering.)
