I just came back from seeing Dinesh D'Souza's "Obama's America 2016".
Wow.
I really cannot recommend it enough. It is a thoughtful investigation on who Obama is ideologically, and seeks to uncover what he believes, and why he believes it.
No ad hominems, no hysteria, but a thorough look at his formative years, his parentage and family influences, and his political and theological mentors.
Man... whether you are for or against him you ought to see this film for the simple reason that- as the subtitle suggests- you really DON'T know him. (Because quite honestly, we were never allowed to know him.)
An amazingly important film.

Thank you for posting this.... I'll try to see this.
The guy writes two autobiographical books that basically white-wash his politically damaging history (as autobiographies can tend to do), he makes himself available for softball interviews from a fawning and all-too-willing to please Left-leaning media, and "discusses" his religious beliefs by basically throwing his pastor of 20 years under the bus when his blatantly racist, anti-Israel, anti-American, angry and unhinged theology comes to light (and of which Obama claims "never" heard his pastor make), then demonizing anyone who brings it up.
No, we don't know him.
Any attempts to uncover his past, dig into his history, and bring out the line-up of unsavory characters that pepper this man's history are immediately condemned as racist, again, by a media that lines up politically with Obama, and is seeking to protect him.
No mention has been made of the heavy influence in Obama's life of mentor Frank Marshall Davis, a card carrying (literally) member of the Communist Party and who was listed on the FBI's watch list.
No mention has been made of the great influence of hard-core socialist, and radically anti-Israel professor Edward Said in Obama's life and worldview.
No one has mentioned Obama's radically communist sympathizing mother.
No one has mentioned Obama's school activity, his socialist/Marxist friends (his own admission) and the groups he was affiliated with. Why? The school records are sealed.
Sealed. Why? How do we get to know someone when a large portion of their history is sealed?
No, we don't know him. The right questions were never allowed to be asked, and if someone did manage to ask they were shouted down as racist, conspiratorial, fear-mongering, or simply ignorant by the lap dog media.
I had an idea of who he was, but I didn't know a LOT. The movies was respectful, but eye-opening. It was not malicious, it was objective and well researched. ...Which is why I have yet to hear a rebuttal of the points made in the film, but have heard the expected demonizing of the film's creator. (The Left never heard an ad hominem attack it didn't like.)
A very important film on certainly the most covered up American political figures in our generation.
I would encourage you to see it, and find out for yourself if you "knew" him.

Isn't _that_ the truth -- unlike anything we've ever seen (not seen). Thanks for the mini-review, Steve. Might try to see it this week.
