"For Greater Glory"

I just finished watching this fantastic film about the Mexican people's struggle for religious freedom against their secular/totalitarian government as it attempts to wipe out the Catholic church in order to gain complete and total control of the country.

It is based on true events, and set in the early 1900's. (And stars Andy Garcia.)

I should say that though there is gun violence, and blood, there is no cursing, no nudity, no gratuitous violence, and for a movie about war... it was pretty clean.

My wife and I thought it was a powerful film that explores what the Christian's response is to tyranny, and shows that freedom truly is not free.

I was just talking about this with a friend of mine... the man of heart is a dark thing, and the freedom we enjoy in this country is taken for granted. MOST people around the world do not enjoy half of what we have here. And the simple fact is freedom is the unnatural state of man. History shows- not to mention the present day- that oppression is the natural state of man.

Men seek control. Freedom is an ideal placed in the heart of men by God, but one that runs contrary to man's desire for domination and power.

A very, very enjoyable film! CHECK IT OUT!
