In April of last year I went to Cambodia looking to help meet the needs of an orphanage in the heart of Phnom Penh called "Water Of Life". Little did I realize the impact that trip would have on my life.
In many, many ways Cambodia is still bearing the scars of the genocide of the 1970's. What I saw there forever changed me, and the work done by W.O.L. is always in the forefront of my mind. From taking children in off the street, to rescuing young women from the sex trade, to providing them an education, and giving them Hope, a home, and a family, W.O.L. is doing life changing work.
…And they are growing every day.
Well, this September I'm going back with a few from my church, and I'm taking my 13 year old daughter with me to see what we can do next. There is always a need- as W.O.L. operates completely on donations- so I'm asking you to consider supporting our efforts.
Please take a moment to read the attached pdf (CCoW_Cambodia2013.pdf), and I ask you PLEASE not to feel pressured in any way. …If you want to give, GREAT! No amount is too small! …If you don't, no worries.
But, I thank you for your time. Upward and onward, all.
God bless!
...Steve.

Things are happening in Cambodia.
Politically, there seems to be some unrest. The recent elections have caused some strife and the rumors are that the opposition to the party in power is planning violent protests.
But, on the God front... I keep in touch with a young man, Rin, who was orphaned at a very young age, horribly abused by his extended family, and lived in the streets, surviving by crime and theft. He came to the Lord as a young man, and is now a pastor at Water Of Life.
Here is what Rin wrote to me two days ago: "This week, we gonna go out a lot to share the Good New. To day, we went to Taley Village. There were about a hundred people came including the mothers, want to praise God for the big door open and those kids and mothers to know Jesus and who he really is to them. Thanks God for the opportunity for me to go to teach them English every afternoon and also have a Bible Club with those kids. Please continue to lift them up in prayer. ...Tomorrow we gonna have a youth out reach here at Water of Life. Praise God for the new believers in Christ and pray that the Lord will continue to open the heart who come and join tomorrow."
The Lord is moving in a spiritually dark land, where people bow to idols and where those who are starving appease the spirits with food for fear of reprisal. People are being freed, and those who follow the Lord are moving.
Please, pray for my upcoming trip- that it would be effective, and that the Lord may reveal the needs that we can meet- as well as for the people of Cambodia. May they not forget the horror of the violence so recently suffered, and so repeat it.
God bless, guys.
We go where we are called.
That video was a like a commercial with how-to instructions. I appreciate the expose', but they could have done without the details.
Meanwhile down the block...
