So, I'm not sure why this is worth writing about, but anyway…
I'm walking to work today, down 44th street, and this butterfly flies beside me. Butterflies are not really uncommon in Manhattan, but they're also not terrible common… especially near Times Square.
So, this butterfly flies beside me for a bit. (I'm not sure what kind it was. It had the same colors as a monarch, except no white, and it was smaller, but it was beautiful nonetheless.) It darts in front of me, and lands on the sleeve of a woman who is texting her life away on her little crack-berry. She takes no notice whatsoever, and it was well within her field of vision. Yet, so focused was she on that little screen, she completely missed that little gift that landed on her.
It then flew away, and I watched it as it eventually flew out of view.
So, I'm just walking into the heart of Times Square, approaching Broadway, and the butterfly reappears at my side. And as I'm walking it flew beside me, weaving between people and street vendor set-ups who again take no notice whatsoever at what is around them.
It crossed Broadway with me- literally alongside me- then flew ahead and landed over the doorway of my work building, the very building I enter.
I don't know… that seemed something worth mentioning. I take it as a gift from God to me. Something beautiful to lift my spirits as I start yet another day of cubicle repetition.
So, there it is. Just thought I'd share.
Shalom.

Thank you for sharing this story, it was truly beautiful. It made me think of how we want to let people know of the beauty & love of our God, and they are too busy to notice, and it's sad more than anything...like missing that butterfly.
Even more impressive, God sent you a painted Lady.
Thanks, guys.
It was an American Painted Lady butterfly. I did a little research.
I had to know! (I guess there was a little white in it.) ...Peace, all!
Too bad too many people let life pass them by while they are completely self-absorbed. Interesting story. Thanks.
That is amazing -- love it! If you made it into a video (ala the feather in Forrest Gump) it would seem manufactured...
...thanks for sharing!
God bless--
Dog.... you are too funny. I really enjoyed that story. Cubicle repetition. LOL. Trust me I have that same feeling I think you have when it comes to the Peter Parker lifestyle. Right now I'm killing myself trying to put me in a better situation financially. So that this book I"m working on can finally make it to the shelf and in peoples hands. Hey my man glad to read something from you.
Any way I'm on the last chapter of that book you gave me and it's an eye opener. I'll send you a personal letter when I'm done. Hope everything is good on your side of the tracks.
