"Association"

Almost every day I visit Seth Godin's site to see what he has to say. (For those of you who never heard of him Seth is probably the leading voice in new social media marketing, and the new internet based business economy.)

He regularly makes great points to consider. This latest post I thought was worth posting here-

Who you hang out with determines what you dream about and what you collide with.

And the collisions and the dreams lead to your changes.

And the changes are what you become.

Change the outcome by changing your circle.

This is something that I tell people regularly: associations matter.

The simple truth is that if you hang out with certain types of people you will begin to mirror the characteristics of those people.

For a friend of mine who struggling in her marriage I tell her regularly if you keep hanging out with bar-hoppers, and couples in highly dysfunctional relationships, do not expect your marriage to improve.

If you want a good marriage it is wise to seek out those in good marriages and learn from them. The same goes for business- if you want to learn good business hang out with successful business folk- and even for our Christian walk. (Didn't Paul ask the church to follow him as he follows Christ?)

It's a simple message but one that I think is very important to remember.

   Anyhoo... there it is.

I hope everyone fared the storm well. God bless.
