Comedy Central developing Jesus Christ cartoon
As I understand it this year a judge ruled theNational Day of Prayer unconstitutional. That reminded me of whatsomeone told me ten years ago. If we ask GOD to leave he will. Andwhen he leaves, then what's left?
Just wondering how all of you feel about what is taking place on Comedy Central?

if it is un-Christian enough for comedy central, then it is probably not Christian enough for the Church. the Jesus in south park is a totally mockery and i can't expect it to be much different.
now here is what the site says about it (in fact, another link from that page (http://livefeed.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/05/comedy-centrals-slate...)
"JC"
A half-hour animated show about JC (Jesus Christ) wanting to escape his father's enormous shadow and to live life in NYC as a regular guy. A lot has changed in 2000 years and he is the ultimate fish out of water. Meanwhile his all-powerful yet apathetic father would rather be playing video games than listening to JC recount his life in the city. JC is a playful take on religion and society with a sprinkle of dumb. Executive produced by Reveille ("The Office"), Henrik Basin, Brian Boyle ("American Dad"), Jonathan Sjoberg and Andreas Ohman.
i tell you what- everything there is 100% contrary to the Gospel. Period.
An "apathetic Father would rather be playing video games"?
Jesus wanting to "escape God's shadow and live as a regular guy"?
Both of those are the opposite of the definitions of the Father and the Son.
If some misguided "believer" is working on this- i expect it to be no different from any other project which supposedly represents biblical truths while interspersing it with things contrary to the Gospel- having no Christian fruit and probably leading people away from God.
and i imagine tons of people referencing and pretending that it presented a "real" Jesus- like the "buddy christ" of "dogma" etc. and i've heared many people say they found that movie to present theology they liked- but clearly, it is theology which is contrary to the Bible.
i really think it would be better to have nothing like these products than to have the form of godliness that they present.
i don't have to see the show- if it is anything like the premise, it will do nothing but draw people away from Christ. it is a mockery of who we are as Christian cartoonists and what we do. and further proof that our faith is not something to be takne seriously- meanwhile, Comedy central is in the process of editing Muhammad out of south park. why? because people respect (and fear) islam and they don't take us seriously.
