CHRISTIAN COMIC ARTS SOCIETY :: A NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP FOR COMICS FANS, PROS, AND AMATEURS
A few days ago, I found something that essentially changes my mind on something I've had a set opinion of for over a decade. More importantly, I found out the my attitude towards my walk with God, and fellowship, needed re-evaluating and resetting back to the New Testament. As I found out, after praying and searching, that we start by asking the right question."How do we approach and befriend God?!? How do we experience a Relationship and Encounter tangible change into His Image? Where do we find this God who is not approachable through the five senses, good deeds, proper doctrines or techniques or wording, hard work, or any such thing?"When we look hard at the life of Jesus, we realize that he spent no time setting up a formal church setting, in the home, or in a building. He spent all of his time talking about how we should live and grow closer to Him. The life of a Christian is not about "How to have meetings" or how to get people to participate... or anything like that! Jesus did not come down here to "have church" or set up meeting structures one way or another. That's because they were never meant to be an end! Jesus wants to change our lives totally, inside and out, to spiritually experience and share His type of love, so that lives are changed in a way that the gates of Hell cannot stand against. And, when we seek Him first, and seek this level of relationship with Him, then other things, including the way we look at gatherings with other believers, totally changes."CHRISTIANITY is not a technique, something to attend in a home or building, a philosophy of lifestyle, a belief system, or a social and do-good club. "CHURCH" is not something we can attain with knowledge and effort and sincerity. It is a Sovereign issue of God's Intent, Timing, and Gifts."It is time that we, as Christians, seek God for a true church experience, by becoming part of the Body of Christ, rather than any institution made by man. Does that mean we never go to an 'institutional' church or join 'home church' groups? Again, that is the wrong question. For if we seek God first, and make him our DAILY goal, the prize we seek daily above all else, we will be lead in the right direction. I believe that as we, as a group, pursue God first, our perception of what constitutes the "Body of Christ" and the "Gathering of Believers" will radically change from the mindset we currently have, ideas and processes created by age old traditions and thoughts of man. We will begin to see "Church" the way God sees it.I encourage everyone to read this same site I came across, by God's Grace. Before you read it, pray that God open your heart to show you His truth.Back to the Basics (Text):http://books.allathisfeet.com/organic_church_life.cfm?id=29955Consuming Zeal for God's House (Podcast):http://www.allathisfeet.com/seed.cfm?id=24358Q&A Audio Session (Can be hard to hear, specifically when people are actually asking questions, but the answer part is what you will want to hear anyway): http://www.housechurch.com/home_church.cfm?id=33644And let me know what you think! Is this possibly a going back to basics that is as fundamental as the truths that lead to the great time of restoration, or is this a bunch of poppycock?
